I have a Type-S CL '01 with two older Type-R Alpine subs in the trunk. Recently, since I did not have a cover on the speakers or box, my skateboard went right through both speakers, so now I want new subs. I have a 1200 watt Sony Xplode amp 2 channel also. The existing subs in my trunk never really kicked as hard as i want. They kicked hard but I want harder. Any recommendations? Was it my amp that wasnt doing the job? I heard the new Type-Rs are way better, I'm not sure on what to do. Help is greatly appreciated!!

 

I personaly do not like the alpine type R's i have owned one 12, I'm currently running a JL Audio 13.5" W6...I've never owned a sony xplode amplifier but never herd anything good about them... If i was you i would look into the JL Audio W3's they just dropped all of their prices, and possibly a new amplifier, If its clean hard thump you want for your subs, stay away from those 2 channel amps, get a monoblock amp...
