New mini-mp3 player: 20gigs, $250, same size as iPod mini

While not quite as nice looking as apple's, i still prefer substance over style:

http://www.archos.com/products/prw_500669.html

20 gigs, $250, basically the same size as the iPod mini, can create playlists from the device and add/delete/rename as well. Will have to wait for reviews....

Archos makes some good stuff! I really like their Personal Video Players! Check out the AV 400

I have the Archos FM Jukebox(20 gig) and I wouldn't recommend it. I usually have to reset once or twice to get it to boot, sometimes it boots and you can't read the screen(chars split), sometimes the screen is dim(very dim). Sometimes i just have to hold the ON button until it's fully booted. Usually a reset fixes this stuff, but basically I can never just turn it on and turn it off..And once in awhile it will crash the OS or just turn itself off...

Then there's the rare times it boots it self and runs down the battery. The only nice thing about it is the battery lasts forever. Usually I catch it before it runs the battery dead. I use it 2-3 times a week at the gym and I only have to charge it about once every 4-6 weeks...

So, because of this, I can't recommend Archos products..

Sorry to hear that MusicBox. Is their firmware upgrades available for your model mp3 player? If so, have you applied the current ones?
I have a RCA Lyra RD2780 AV/MP3 player and it worked pretty bad until I appplied the most recent firmware upgrades.

It has the latest firmware. And I contacted them asking if they were working on a newer firmware and they told me just to send the unit back to them, and I didn't. So, that part is my fault. But I think it's too late now, because that was in the first year I had it.
