I just bought a new Infinity 610a amp and a 12" Infinity perfect sub. It's hooked up through a RCA converter from the rear speaker wires. I get awesome low frequency bass, but when some higher frequencies hit, all I hear is popping and little bass. Any Ideas??

Do you have something limiting the frequencies that go to the sub? (Like a low pass filter on the amp). Is the popping coming from the main speakers or the sub? What do you mean by "some higher frequencies"?
