New aux adapter for nav and non from autotoys???

Hey everyone! Just got my new CG TSX w/ NAV 2 days ago and i have my xm commander in fm mode right waiting for blitzsafe to come through but then i saw this in a forum from AUTOTOYS - HONDA AUX INTERFACE . I emailed to company and they said it works with both nav and non nav tsx's cause each is hand made and ships in 2-4 days. If anyone with nav has boughten from them let me know. Plus they are only like $75 which is better the the shondo3 100 bucks. if it works out well can you say group buy?

Dude, nice find........HOWEVER ..........if you read the site, and check the priceing, it is an addittional $40 if you have navi.

so, it is 75 + 40 for this unit.........and, it is the SAME as the shondo3.

just, FYI.

not really. the snhonde3 needs an accord audio harness for it to work with navi. That is another 30 bucks tacked on to the 100 (plus you have to splice).

Now, if I remember correctly, the TSX is supposed to be XM ready. To me that means I can control the XM radio from the stock head unit with proper adaptor. or am I just getting confused with other stuff?

XM ready in that your car is ready for you to install an XM unit by using FM modulation of direct line-in connection. I'm not aware of any way to control the tuning of the XM receiver using the cars system or steering wheel controls. I'm also guessing that capability is dependent on the functionality of the XM receiver/tuner itself. I'd love to find out an adaptor exists, but no luck so far.

i dunno if they have changed this recently or not, but it was VERY easy to install!!

Works Great

I just recieved the unit from autotoys for the TSX w/nav. It is a blitzsafe adapter and works prerfect. Not to mention its simply plug and play because the cable has already been modified and it actually costs less that the soundgate adapter and the part that you have to have from Honda to make the soundgate work.

I'm still waiting for my unit. It's been stuck in "Processing" for two weeks now.

They said they have to fill out extra paperwork for international order, but they took the money from the start.

Edit: I just checked and now it says "Complete"

Sound Quality

The sound quality is awesome. MUCH MUCH better than FM Modulation. Actually it is the same model blitzsafe adapter that the above link to logjam is for. It is only $118 with free shipping from autotoys. I ordered on Sunday Sept 12 and it arrived Thursday Sept 16. Would definitely do business with them again!

Actually, I didn't know XM radio sounded so good until I hooked up my commander thru the Blitzsafe adapter. This gives it a direct connection to the preamp, meaning the sound quality will be as good as the source unit is capable of producing. The other adapter works exactly the same way. In fact, I now prefer the XM as my source of choice for sound quality. It is the flattest across the freq. band, with a tight low end and nice soft high end. Great smooooth midrange. I even prefer it slightly over the CD changer in the TSX, which I find to be exaggerated in the bass and too "hot" in the high end. Surprised the heck out of me!
You will hear some say that XM sound quality sucks. If you have the luxury of aftermarket amps and speakers, like I do, turn the amp gains a bit higher, and turn the sub freq. a bit higher than your norm, as well as the sub gain. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

actually, the soundgate schond3 now comes this way also....i just hooked up the DVD unit, and used the schond3 for the audio and it has the accord adaptor already wired in.

JUST FYI.

Not to get off topic but how was the laser vision correction. I'm a software engineer and I look at the screen way too much (this forum doesn't help )

I figure at some point I will need that.

For the first year my eyes were dry to the extent that they needed to put plastic plugs in my tear ducts to keep my eyeballs wet

After the year, they got much better and my vision is perfect after 2 1/2 years.

I finally got my adapter from Autotoys. It works great, except I really have to crank up the volume on my MP3 player to get a volume comparable to the CD player. It's probably just due to my MP3 player though.

Installation is extremely easy, same as Soundgate, just plug and play. Even removing the compartment from the console was easier than I thought.

At first I thought about getting this Ipod stero cable for $50 (stereo mini jack to male RCA) but then I just got the same thing for $6 and the sound is probably just as good. I'm sure the limiting factor is the MP3 player here and the MP3 quality.

Does anyone know how to take apart the console in order to route the cables into the armrest compartment?

its easy once you get the clips off the first time, they're pretty stiff.

Do you know of any FAQ or guide that tells you how to do it properly?

I don't want to screw it up either, my old Accord had a loose console after I put some stuff in the back seat and I really don't want that in my TSX.

Has anyone tried to use the steering wheel control in conjuction with the aux?

STEERING WHEEL INTERFACE TO FACTORY CONTROLS FOR VIDEO OR ANY IR REMOTE (SWIV) #596

http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/ST...Y_I_p_596.html

It would be real nice to be able to control a dell dj or ipod with the steering wheel.

I had my installer install the Blitzsafe adapter for my wife's 2003 Civic for the Terk XM Commander, and now she LOVES the XM radio. I really liked listening to it before, but I have listened to it in her car and the FM modulator sucked my left nut! After the Blitzsafe adapter was installed, she can crank the volume and she said there was a HUGE difference, and she's not even close to being an "audiophile"!

I can't wait until I can start listening to mp3s on CD or even when I get my Ipod for Christmas!

I hear ya, I haven't listen to the CD much since I got my DVD/MP3 player hooked up. It's great having over a hundred songs at your fingertips

Yep, I got the Soundgate SNHOND3, and it is fantastic! I have it connected to my XM Roady 2, and sounds crystal clear!

I took the Alpine aftermarket unit in my CR-V and tapped the audio lines going to the FM Mod, and put RCA's on them. Common aftermarket mod.

On that particular unit, the bass sounds tubbier and boomier than the Nak CD player. (Comparing similar songs.) Sometimes I ahve to turn the bass down 1 click to keep the 10 from sounding overpowering with the XM.

I was thinking it was the XM broadcast EQ, but maybe the Alpine was EQ-ing the audio going to the FM Mod to make up for the poor FM Mod sound... hmm...

That think looks tight...man..I wonder if it would work for our cars! I need it to control my Pioneer N1. It looks like it has an IR sensor though. Hmm..I wonder if it covers the IR receiver completely. I'm not sure if I could still retain use of my remote control and the steering wheel controls.

Anyone have any thoughts?
