Nero Xpress + Music Videos = No worky on my Kenwood DDX
Can anyone be of assistance? I am using Nero Xpress, I switch the recorder over to DVD video files, I drag the music videos over, throw in a DVD-R, burn, burns successfully, and then it wont play in my car (Kenwood DDX 7017). Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Well, lots of things can go wrong. What's your source files? vobs/ifos all setup properly? placed in VIDEO_TS folder? bad burn?
Can you narrow it down any more?

I didnt know it was that in depth. lol I burn music files all day long and I thought it was the same process, just in dvd form.
Basically I "borrow" from a file downloading source, put them in a new folder on my desktop. Open up Nero Xpress, select the E: for dvd files, switch the recorded to DVD files and it opens up. Then I take the music videos from my folder and drag them over. It fills up about 3/4 of the stored amount. Then I hit burn and it burns successfully including the finalizing part. I take the cd out and test it on my computer, works fine. I go to my car and it wont read it. Hope that helps.

It sounds like what you've just done is burned a data DVD. That would allow you to read the files just as they were on your HDD, and play them back on any computer. You'll need to read up on DVD Video format if you want that to play as a 'traditional' DVD. There is lots of formatting invloved.

If you haven't found more yet, this is really good info: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvd-basics.htm
Its designed to aid in dvd ripping, but it explains dvds and the structure, which you will need to burn one.
If this is too much for you, you need an all-in-one converter product. Several are available on the net to purchase, they'll take your divx/vcd/whatever and turn it into dvd format for you, but generally with sub-par results.
