Need suggestions on system

First off, i topped out my car at 134 mph at 5300rpm. i could had kept on going but there was a turn ahead. Anyway i just install the Pioneer Avic N1, i am looking into puttin some bass in my car. i am thinking about gettin the 500/1 JL audio Mono amp. Anyone have and suggestion on the step up? What kind of subs and speakers should i get? do i need a cap? i have a yellow top already. i want a tight solid bass.

I can help answer your question. But it's quite vague....are you looking for sound quality? SPL? What kind of music do you listen to?

As far as the JL goes, I have 5 JL amps, the 300/4, 1000/1, 250/1, 300/2, and an e2150. JL's are excellent (if pricy) amps...very clean and powerful.

Clean tight bass= sealed box...the ported boxes are generally "boomier" and louder...but are not nearly as accurate...which is what you seem to be looking for.

a 500/1 would easily power 2 10's or 12's (unless you get the W7 or equivalent subs). The factory Acura bose speakers are just awful and it would be great if you replaces them with a set of good 6.5" components in the front and 6x9's in the rear (or even 6.5" coaxials) and get a second 4 channel amplifier.

Actually, if you want PM me, or email me and I will help you build a stereo---I owned a speed/performance shop and can give you guidelines and good suggestions!

Your System

The JL is definatly a good choice. I dont think you will need a bass cap for the 500/1 amp b/c it has an internal power regulator. Then I would probably look at some w6 12's probably just 1. Most of knock that you need will be great from those speakers. Then go ahead and get the JL 6x9 they are like 225-300 and you should be fine, but make sure you get a good dynomat job use 2 kits. And you will be good. I am working on a similair but diff, setup in my CL-S and I like that way it works together, but noe something will always be rattling slightly with that JL. GOOD LUCK MANE.
