Need iPod adapter for 2004 TSX no navi

Hi, I would like to be able to connect my iPod to my 2004 TSX. I don't have navi and I don't have XM either. I've read about the USA SPEC PA11-HON2 adapter. Does that fit my car or do I need a different model? How does it compare to the Blitzsafe adapters? I'm looking for the following features:

- Direct connection through iPod port
- Charge the iPod
- Control the iPod with steering wheel controls (bonus: control also from iPod)
- Keep CD changer enabled so I can easily switch between using the iPod and CDs

I've read some of the threads here and I'm specially not sure if it will disable my CD changer or not. Does it just connect to the AUX port? Thanks!

Yep USA Spec will work great for you. It will do all of the things you listed. It definitely doesn't disable the OEM CD changer. Let me know if you need some help on install.

Thanks Tsx526. I am wondering how to actually connect it. After posting here I found the manual of the USA Spec at crutchfield: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Man...581PA11H2Y.PDF. The manual talks about connecting the 14-pin connector to the "receptor" on the back of the radio. Is this the AUX input or the CD changer input? Also in other parts of the manual it says I need to go the CD changer mode to listen to the iPod. So how would I be able to choose between playing the CD changer and the iPod?

One more thing: do I need the PA11-HON2 or PA11-HON2y?

The plug is actually on the bottom of the headunit, that makes it pretty easy to get to.

To switch between CD changer and Ipod, you'll hit the CD button one more time to switch to aux mode. When you'll hit the button, you'll see the onscreen display switch for "CD1" to "CD-C". Once you see CD-C it means you are now getting sound from the AUX input instead of the factory CD changer. Since your Ipod is hooked up to the AUX input, that's what you'll hear.

I found a local car stereo shop that had the PA11-HON2y in stock and bought it this afternoon. I just finished installing it now. This thing is awesome!!! Everything works perfectly so far and I'm sure I will enjoy my commute a lot more now with my iPod

Thanks Tsx536!!!

Great thread, I just ordered one second hand on eBay, can't wait to install it...Is the sound cd quality at least? Also will the PA11-HON2Y work with a 2g Ipod Touch?

hey guys I'm new here. Just got a 2004 TSX with no navi and no XM and was looking to do the same thing as in this post. I've been looking at the different USA Spec models and the website told me I should get a PA15-HON3. Can anyone tell me if this is the best one for me. Any help would be great.
Everyone at this website has helped me out alot already. Thanks!

@pflint: I was just looking at the USA Spec site myself, and it looks like we actually need PA15-HON2. The website says so in a different place (their site really sucks!), so that's why you think that. I opened both product manuals, and the HON2 is the one we need. There's even a small note on one of the pages:"PA15 HON2 replaces PA11HON2Y ...". Reading this thread, you'll see that's what the OP bought and installed.
