Hey i was wondering if any1 here could help me cuz im not the greatest wt electronics.
I have a ROckford 500s amp hooked up to 2 jl 12z in a box...ive had them for about 6 months now and the other day i turned my system on...and the base was coming out real funny. It makes 2 knocking soudns when i turn it on or off now...and the base comes out unever at times..like louder base at low volume or doesnt come out at all sometimes. And at time it makes base noises when i accelerate or turn. One person has told me it may be my ground wire..and another said its somethin that went wrong in the amp and i need to send it to rockford to get fixed which as u all kno would be a big hassle....
can any1 diagnose this problem from my description?...and if so any ideas or solution please are welcome...thanks alot guys

 

I would definitely check your ground wire before you do anything else. Make sure it is secure and has solid contact with the frame and there is no paint or anything getting in the way. Double check your connections on the amp also.
