Need Help Rewiring Navi
I recently moved my dvd navi from the trunk to the glove compartment in my TSX. I have tapped into the wires on the passenger side door sill and everything is working EXCEPT I cant get it to recieve the gps signal. I have tried different ways of wiring the gps antenna but no success. Any help at all please?! I have tried several searches with no success on this matter.

The square connector that connects the GPS antenna to the Nav unit is actually a 2 pin connector, the center pin that can be seen is the GPS signal coming from the antenna, around that in the entire square part of the plug is a ground reference.
If you have "cut" this plug off the antenna cable to extend it, the center pin must be connected to the antenna lead and the shielding MUST go to a good body ground going to both the antenna and the NAV unit.

One other quick thing you might want to keep in mind is that the nav system is mounted perfectly level in its bracket in the trunk and thats for the yaw rate and accel sensor built into the unit. The nav unit uses this sensor for "instantanious" vehicle movement information - when you turn down a street the system does not wait for the GPS to know that you turned, the computer senses your turn, and displays accordingly and is later backed up by the GPS.
I personally have no idea what effect not being level would have but its just something to keep in mind and it would be intersting to see if after relocating to the the glove compartment if the cursor is not turning when the vehicle turns or the cursor is going "off the road", or the display is now "behind" the vehicle when it used to be in real time...
