Need help... new system in my car, Metra kit?

This is kind of a silly question, but I have a 2003 TL-S and want to put in new speakers all around, but I'm not sure if its compatible. I just want to put new speakers in, but I don't want it to sound like crap. Plan on getting Polks all around. Will I need an aftermarket head unit? I actually want to put an aftermarket deck in, but I'm afraid the Metra kit will look completely off even if wetsanded. I'm not sure if I want to spend $1000 on an AVIC-D3 either. I think I get accommodation discounts on Eclipse, though, because I work at Circuit City.

Any suggestions? Or how to make the Metra kit look like OEM? How would you go about wetsanding a Metra trim piece anyway?

If anyone has a DIY on how to take the door panels off, etc. that would be great. I've never taken anything in my interior apart before, and I know to not break tabs, but I've never done this before on the TL.
