the only thing i dont like about the 13w7 is how big it is and how much power it takes... but it is an awesome sub... i have 1 12w6v2 in my tl with the jl 500/1 and that is plenty enough for me.... i cant imagine 1 13w7...

I have a 10w7 with the high output box made for it. This is so loud it blurs my vision. I point it out of the trunk. I have about 500 dollars of dynamat in the trunk too. I had a 12w7 in the high output box for a week but returned it cause the only way i could get the box to fit was by taking out the spare tire and putting the box upsidedown. I high output box really makes a difference. as so does dynamat.

Check out my "veiw my photos" to the left.

No matter what sub you decide to go with, I'd suggest firing it towards the rear of the car. It may seem like you'll benefit from having it fired directly into the cockpit, but I've read countless info that discourages this practice.

Hell, you can always mount it temporarily and try it both ways before mounting it permanently.

BTW, what amp are you planning to use? If you're going to install a power hungry sub, it has to be fed properly.

Good luck!

Yes I have a monster digital 1 farad capacitor. THe neat thing about it is it is digital. But I think I am going to need two because my headlights are still diming. I now know that a 1 farad cap is weak. Now they have supercaps and stuff. I am thinking about buying a Supercap.

as far a caps go... they are not going to help much with the lights dimming... if you are worried about the lights dimming you might want to upgrade the batter and if that doesnt work go with a ho alternator... but if you insist on going with a cap look into the alumapro 5farad caps... they are probably the best caps on the market...

I have two 10" PG Ti subs firing toward the rear seat. More bass than I'll ever really need (but bass is like h.p. ). I really like them mounted this way. Also, the Alumapro 5F is the way to go. I agree that it won't help much with dimming lights. You should go with a higher output alternator for that.

O.k. Then my set-up (Monster 1f cap, 10w7 sub, jl500/1amp, 4guage wire) is probably flawless. Meaning the cap is sufficent. You suggest an alternator. Do you agree that my cap is fine? What will the bigger cap do if it aint gonna stop the dimming? I know it helps with on-demand power supply.

As far as I know, your 1F cap is fine. I went with the Alumapro because of the technology, not the 5F capacity. It is way overkill as far as my system goes. I only have 1250W. But, from what I have read, heard and seen, dimming lights is due to an alternator not putting out enough amps or a battery not keeping up. I do not know the details of "why." Hopefully someone can give us the details.

your lights dim becuase your system is pulling more current than your altenator is producing... if you lights only dim slightly then you can get a bigger battery... optima yellow top or something like that (deep cycle batter) and that should fix your problem.. but if you lights are dimming constantly and it feels like you car is going to cut off when you are at idle then you will probably want to look at getting a new altenator...
