Need help on box type .... diagram included

Alright guys,
I am looking to get 2 eclipse 12" 88120 DVC Alum subs to put in my trunk. My thought is I will put em in an enclosure under my rear deck. The included picture is 4 of the proposed designs I am looking at. I am looking for the least rattle and the best SQ so keep that in mind. THanks!

wouldn't a sealed box give the tightest and most accurate bass?

It's still sealed...but it might be like a band pass depending on the ported area i guess. If thats the case I am not a big fan of badpass because they only play boomy bass......they cant produse the higher freq. bass.

So you are saying that 4 would not be the best for SQ? That is really what I am looking for. As far as more pics of the trunk, I've got em -- they are from a fellow in the TL-S forums. Let me dig em up.

I think if its like the pic of the 2 JL's it would sound great...but if it has more of a port than an opening then it will be more like a bandpass box and I think they suck for SQ. They have a very narrow freq. range that they will play.

This is what I am talking about....

Does it matter that in my box they will be pointing at an angle like in the guy with the JL's picture? Also, I am planning to use eclipse 88120Ti's -- I think I should get better SQ from those. I hope at least!

I dont think it will matter with the angles of the subs (but I am not 100% on that) but if you have it like the JL's I think it will sound great as far as SQ goes. I am not familure with the eclipse subs but I have heard that they were real good for SQ.

Is that diagram that you posted above totally sealed or is that a big port in the middle?

The 2 subs are sealed and that is the port in the middle....that port will only allow certian range of freq. out...like 40hz - 80hz. I have had one before and it sounded great on some boomy bass rap misic...but when it was time for something else it didnt really preform like I wanted it too. I think if you do something like the JL's look it will sound good IMO.

Yeah, I think I am going to do what they have in the picture of that guys trunk. Just run it sealed and then see if I can port it.

No problem...what do you want to know the demenions of?? I dont really know all that....I would say if you are haveing someone install it for you have them build the seald chamber to spec (the right amount of air space) for the subs you have and just have them on an angle with the opening however big it ends up. Just make it look nice like the JL's

This is what I am talking about....

I misquoted someone before. This is the box I am going to be using. 2 sealed boxes firing into 1 shared ported chamber. If done correctly this should sound and look GREAT!!!!
