Need advice mounting new front speakers.

I am in process replacing the stock speakers and amp. I have MB Quart DSD216 for the fronts. After removing the stock 6.5'' I've run into the age old problem, the replacement 6.5" MB Quarts are not a simple plug and play.

I thought about bastardizing the plastic spacer that the stock 6.5" used but that may be more trouble than the effort. I know that some folks here have used these speakers. Any insight into a good way to mount this speakers would be greatly appreciated.

I have stopped working on this for the evening hoping I will get a brain storm but so far I've only got a headache.

Thanks

Otis

use 3/4 MDF to make spacers and remove the OEM plastic .. should work fine.

Thank you Sliverknight!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hit the Home Depot this morning and bought some 3/4" MDF per your recommendation. Made a circular spacer out off the material. It worked great. Door panel fits on, window works fine and all the controls are operational Thanks for the advice!!!
