Okay. If you are not sick of me yet...

I have decided to go with a sub and amp. I am going to get a 12" Solobaric sub (the square one) with probably a single amp Phoenix Gold XS 2300 300x1

Thought I would run it by you before I 'jump'

Thanks

Ummm ... I heard the Solobaric before, I didnt like it but it was underpowered so I have no idea how good it will sound. To tell you the truth, I have no clue how the combo would come out. However, I'm a Kicker and PG believer so I would say "yes".

I'll edit the topic and ask other guys to see if they could help.

The L7 solobaric is a very good driver & i believe it can handle nearly 1000 watts. A 300 watt amp will work but that's the minimum power you could use. more power=better bass and quality. You should look into a ported inclosure for it. The L7 is the first solo driver designed for ported inclosure and it's sick. A friend has 2 in his 2k accord with 2 phoenix gold outlaws and it'll take yer head off!

p.s. are you going to fire it through the ski boot?

Not intending to..

Actually, am going to do some shopping today and see how difficult it is to find a box for this sub since it is square. I searched a bunch of site and found none.

So, I may wind up with my second choice which is the Polk Momo. That is $175 and the Solobarics are $200.

As for the amp, I am now debating on really splurging and getting a PG T1 600.2 which is the titanium amp. That is extremely expensive and I always think long & hard before I spend.

My friend has 1 square solobaric with an XS 2500 and it sounds awesome, the 2300 will under power it.

Thanks for all the advice. I still like the square Solobarics but may get the Polk Momo instead. I went to all the local car audio shop and did not find a square box. The Solobarics were $200 which is $25 more than the Polks but I figured that if I ever had to re-sell, the Solobarics would sell in a heartbeat.

Saw a sale on Ebay for the box with 2 square Solobarics but that would be overkill and would leave me enough room in the trunk to pack some spare condoms....

Am still shopping for my amp, so I have time..
