Navigation Problems

My navi is on the fritz... it won't show my location in real time and it seems to have problems with imputing addresses and giving directions. Has anyone else had this issue? and if so what was the fix? Is it in the navi unit in the dash or is it a problem with the DVD reader in the trunk? Anyone? thanks!

How do you reboot? My navigation for some reason says disk read error(consult dealer) but I've never had problems before and the disc is flawless.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I know on the next gen tl, tsx, rl navs you could reboot it and it would go into learning mode and think it was in torrance, ca then you drive around and it learns where you are. there was a screen i used to get to that. i don't know if that's the same in these earlier models but it may be. that's my only suggestion. you'd have to search around for a calibration screen or technicians screen. on those later nav systems it was holding down like the map and some other button. been over a year since i've done it last.

Turn key to II
Wait for OK to appear on Nav screen
Press OK on screen
Press Menu, Map/Guide, Cancel in this order and hold for 5 seconds
Diagnostic Menu should appear.
