the navigation difference between 2004 and 2005

I have a 2005 TSX and i am planning for non-navi to navigation conversion. I try to find the 2005 navigation system but almost of the time i only found the 2004's. Do you guys think the 04 system should be able to work on 05 TSX?

Don't quote me on this, but I think you would lose your XM functionality. The 2004's don't have XM radio.

I think you'll lose the compatibility with the XM display. Other than that, the two are basically identical.

You could try this link:

2005 TSX Center Module

I don't know what parts you need though. They all seem pretty expensive.

If you're doing the conversion from scratch, I recommend you just step up to the 2006 navi. Its the same front pieces, and you'll get all the functionality except bluetooth.

i don;t mind lose the compatibility with the XM. I just hope the navigation can still work.
do u guys think without the DVD unit, does the monitor and the cd player work? For those people with navigation, what happen when there is no DVD in the DVD ROM?

Screen displays a message saying missing media or something.
Is this conversion going to be a DIY endeavour ?
if so, dude you have a looong way to go.
Go luck

The best anyone here can give you is a GUESS as no one here has gone down the path you're headed.

So your "plan" is get the screen unit first and hope you find the DVD unit sometimes later right ?
just be prepared to wait...........

You input the radio code by twisting the 'tune' knob, and depressing it to enter the number. The display is up where the radio stations usually are, above the navi screen. You should get that code included with the face unit, as the radio is in there.
