hey guys, first of all thanks for any and all replies, and second of all, bare with me...

i have an 00 tl w/ factory nav. my problem is the screen on my navi is starting to bubble up or like the film is starting to crack around the edges, it seems like its something pretty common because i've seen alot of screens like that...

1. is there anything i can do to fix/save this screen? does alpine/anyone sell just the lcd?

if i cant save this screen, my next step would be to delete the whole thing and just throw in an aftermarket DD where the head unit is, i have access to a full parts car so i have all the pieces to convert to non-nav .

2. if i convert to non nav, is it just plug and play, will the knobs still control everything like the nav does, and would i have to replace like the whole wiring harnes or can i just switch bezels and plugs the non-nav climate control in?

i found a guy local that has just the screen but he wants $130 and i want to get a DD down the line so im skeptical to spend the money when i have the full non-nav set up.

please if anyone has any links to converting nav to non-nav post it up and any opinions will be gladly appreciated thanks, AZ!

54 views, no replies? Has no one had this happened to their navigation screen? I took apart the dash on my parts car and notice that the harness looked different.... maybe its better if I just find another screen instead of trying to delete it all together....
