navi with aftermarket deck

Just wanted to know if it would be wise or could it be done to switch the factory deck with an aftermarket deck. I really hated the factory deck and want to put in a aftermarket deck, but I have gone to some audio stores and they all said I shouldnt do it because it will mess up my navi system, is there a way to get around the problem or am I stuck with the factory deck

It won't affect tha Navi at all, only thing you will lose is the Navi Voice which I never used anyways, so no big deal to me,

I installed a aftermarket headunit, and the Metra Kit for the Dash. I would look for a new Audio Shop, obviously they don't know crap about the newer CL's

you can keep the voice if you tapped into the audio wires of the nav and supply an amplified speaker.

my installer done this to my car. he tap into the audio wire>then to a 2 channel amp> then to two separate speakers where he hidden it under my dash board. the only drawback is that my aftermarket hu doesnt mute when the voice comes up but im not complaining. this is my system

kenwood x959 HU
PPI A404 art series amp 4 channel
american audio 2 channel amp
JL audio 500/1 amp
JL 10w7
Alpine type R 6.5 components
Mb quart 6x9
Infinity kappa reference 6.5

the infinity and the american audio amp is what powers my voice. i use these because my installer has it lying around. if you go to the honda odyssey forum and type in nav voice or nav mute im sure you will find a bunch of info there. i hope this helps.
