i live in ny and want to get the navi conversion done. The shop i called told me $1400 and half a day. Are they any more spots in ny to get this done?

You should look into Streeteffectz in Rahway, NJ. Their contact info can be found at www.streeteffectz.com . They recently did my conversion. Here are the pics after the install:

Unfortunately, it's been discontinued and impossible find anywhere.
