My install site, prelim

Hi y'all - I replaced speakers, bypassed stock amp, dynamat, and rewired everything. I took some pics while taking things apart but not necessarily with the intent of a how to - some may find the pics useful due to showing some connectors/how stuff is held together as well as a few suggestions along the way. If you wanna, go to http://sailnav.net/tsxaudio to see what I did - I also built a subwoofer box and attached my amps to it, but no pics yet, need good light. It isn't quite as professional as some I've seen, but it looks stock and sounds great.

Suggestions wanted - I can take some of it apart for new pics but not enthusiastic about making a how to after the fact.

I like the sound, crisp highs, base seems less muddy - put a polk sub in trunk too(10" 9 year old Polk EX). I did listen to the 6.5 " speakers alone for about 30 minutes, couldn't hit all the low stuff hard (really low stuff as in "I like the way you move" by Outkast) but it was clean - Polks have a reputation for being fairly tight in the bass department - I like them cuz I listen primarily to rock and country (some hip hop every now and again, but unusual for me).

Wow, you went all out on that install. Looks good. Did you notice a big improvement with the dynamat? It totally transformed my Golf when I did it.

I dynamated the entire door surface of all 4 doors - banged up my knuckles a little but overall not that hard to do. I honestly can't say whether there was an improvement in sound dampening - I can still hear a little bit of road noise, but I'd need to ride in a stock car to compare. The car was pretty quiet to begin with. I will say that the doors sound/feel TONS more solid from the outside - if you knock on my doors there is a thud, no resonance at all - it's like hitting a solid wood door (different tone of course, but you get the idea). I'd do it again just because I figure if I'm gonna do something might as well go all out - I'll never have to take apart my doors again (*crosses fingers*).

I'll try to take a pic of behind the glove box, it's easy to take off anyhow. If I recall correctly (99% sure but not positive) there is no room for an Xbox beneath the rear seat - my 4 Ga power wire is about all I had vertical room to install - anything larger than ~.5" tall ain't gonna fit. Some people put them under the passenger seat up front I think, look around on this forum for that, you need a SHND3 adapter too to put audio/video input into the nav system.

I will get a shot of it, but right now it is snowing and the light/space in my garage leaves something to be desired with my wife's suv in there too. Pic will prolly be taken on Tuesday when I am post call and have time - tomorrow is possible but unlikely.

OK, I added 3 pics related to the glove box, took me a total of 15 min to take it off, take pics, and reinstall it. Added pic from the trunk - I left enough speaker/RCA/Power wire in the trunk to move my amps around in the future which is nice, but it makes for alot of unsightly extra wire. Wire is mostly cleaned up except that I need a small RCA to feed to the sub amp.
