Woot. Someone else is going to be running 2 10s... Any idea on the gear you're going to use in your upgrade?

Im thinkin of goin with some T1 10"s seein that i can get them at cost and we sell them at the shop and itd be good for showin the customers. Just got done sketchin a build for the box, thinkin of 4 cu.ft. and tuning it down to 28. I may go ahead and redo the whole trunk with vinyl to match my leather and do the carpet on the floor to match the carpet on the inside.

T1's are solid subs. I had a single 10, and it worked great. I never ported it, but sealed it was a great little sub. Put some power to them and they should get going pretty well. I dunno about the tuning, since everything I've seen makes me think they would like higher tuning. Not sure how the output would do with the lower tuning. I'm with you 100% about tuning low (30.125hz tuning here) but just a heads up...

Oh yea there pretty good subs. If i do get them ill prolly go with the T1500-1bd. We did 2 Diamond D3 10"s in a Ram tuned down to 28 and damn it made my 15" seem weak as fuck. It would prolly be more efficient to go a lil higher, around 31-33 or so but i like the lows!

Hmm... Power series amp might work well on them. I'd go with something bigger, especially with that really low tuning... Just me though... I know you will be overpowering them, but after box rise/voltage drop/impedance rise you should be pretty good, or at least I'd think so. I ran 800w to mine, and it was solid as hell. 1kw each (before rise/drop/etc) should do very well...

I've looked through them a bit. Some of the stuff is nice, but then again, I'm more of a fan of the "lesser known" companies. Once I got away from the mainstream companies, I've never looked back... If I had a shop, I'd do the same thing, but of course having popular products there for display/comparison purposes...

Audison, Hertz and Diamond aren't what I would consider mainstream. Not anywhere near as much as stuff like Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, etc.

There you go... I'd check out Sundown, or AQ. The SAZ-1500D or AQ2200.1 would work quite well...

Well, Eggy, since the X8s got put on hold, I'd guess those are pretty out of the question. As for the 1508s, yeah they're sick...

Yea they are i think ive even seen a single 1508 hitting in the 140s but 2 10"s is what im doin on my next setup. Ive had SEVERAL different setups in my vehicles and ive had the best luck out of 2 10"s. I did an install a few months back in an 02' Vette with 2 D3 8"s and it sounded damn good.

Not sure yet, have several different 1s in mind. Ive had my eye on a pair of Diamond Hex Pros for a while and the rest of my system is Diamond so might try them out.

Greenwood, Alan Dante (not to be a nuthugger, just saying) did over a 150 with a single DD 1508... They're beastly subs to say the least. Unfortunately, they don't have the best SQ...

I'd do 2 8s or 10s with good power. Depending on how loud you want to get, that will determine what size, brand and line of subs you'll want. I'm personally very happy with my 2 10s setup. It burps high 30s at low frequencies, and plays almost any music I want with no problems. My current high for a burp score is 138.4db at 34hz. I think it'll do better in the mid 40 hz range, since it plays Air Forces with no problems whatsoever. Maybe I'll check at the next upcoming comp on Halloween...

I know a guy building an SQ car, and he's going to use a single 12 off of like 1500w, eggy... Just because a car is an SQ car doesn't mean it can't run bigger power...

Yea im goin with 2 10"s and 1500-2000 watts, my 15" sounds damn good and with the trim panel on the Termlab it was pressurin 140.9. Im a bass head but i hardly ever crank it up anymore because my lil daughter is always in the car. But when i do want to crank it up i want to be able to feel it. And Eggy im not bein tryin to be a dick but i have worked around car audio a very long time and have heard/worked on many world championship rides and have heard very many different setups.

subs in sq applications are purely meant to blend in. hardcore sq setups usually have 1 8 or 1 10 off little power(150-400w) in small sealed boxes...that's why most sq subs have lower power ratings. you should know this lol...

I have seen alot of SQ setups running big power even overkill, The last big build the company i used to work for had 2 W7 10"s in the rear deck and a couple thousand watts to the whole system

Those arent mids or highs on the dash, they are either 4" or 5" Focal subwoofers.

Just off the top of my head
http://www.bravoxaudio.com/bvx.asp

Just because you have all the power on tap doesn't mean you have to use it... Come on, you should know this...

The guy I was talking about was going to run a Stetsom 2k5d on one of those... That's roughly 1500w (probably more, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt) for the sub channel. Just because it's there doesn't mean he's going to be using all 1500+w in the SQ lanes...

And just a heads up, go check out diymobileaudio.com. There are some SQ builds over there using about 1kw (sometimes more) on their sub channels... Now, given, they also have about 1200w to their frontstage, but hey, whatever floats your boat...
