Has anyone had success with installing an MP3 Player/Jukebox to the stock headunit with a switch. A buddy of mine just had it done to his 3 series with an IPod...works AWESOME. I need to find a way to get this done. If anyone has any suggestions...installers...in the tri state area, I am anxious to hear from you..

By the way...I just got an Archos Jukebox rocorder/Player with 20 GB hard disk space....so now you know why I am so anxious.

 

Check www.blitzsafe.com to see if they have an adapter for your car. You might be able to add your Archos with minor effort and cost.

 

Yeah, I have an Archos jukebox recorder hooked up to the headunit with a Blitzsafe adaptor. It works and sounds great, but I've had a few issues. As I plug into the headphone jack, I get a squeal through the speakers, and the same thing happens, but even louder, when I plug in a car power adaptor. Once it's actually plugged in, it's fine though.

However, a few months ago, it started sqealing and popping as it was playing, and then it shut down and locked my radio. I went through a bunch of crap, because it wouldn't accept my radio security code! I thought that maybe something shorted out and screwed up the security code in memory, and was about the get the headunit replaced, but then tried pulling the radio fuse, and everything reset and the security code worked. So, as of now, it seems to work fine, except the screeching when plugging in the power adaptor, or the audio out...
