moving nav

I just got a box and found out it wont fit because of my nav unit in the trunk. Any suggestions on where I should relocate the unit. I also noticed the wires arnt long enough so if I do move it, who knows what kind of wires are used to hook this up so I can extend the cords. Im planning on placing it like how most cd changers are mounted facing up. Any other suggestions? Thanks

As I have not done this myself...I suggest you PM systek and ask him about it. It's not a difficult process though. I suggest you reference the two threads below -

Unless I'm misunderstanding you when you say you want to relocate it "facing up" you may have a problem. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the gyro for the nav might be in the black box w/ the dvd drive. So you would probably need to keep that box in the same plane it is in now. Otherwise your yaw sensor won't work....

Again, I'm just speculating here, but it's something to watch out for.

Your right Austin this dosent seem like a difficult thing to do but if 2002TLSNavi is correct about the having to leave it at a horizontal position then I need to think of a new place to put it. I saw Systek's install but I dont really want to go through all the trouble of taking out all that stuff. Can someone verify wheather what 2002TLSNavi said is correct? Thanks
