MonsterCable MicroXLN
MonsterCable MicroXLN
This is more of a praise to E-Bay.
I just received 4 pairs of cable from a E-Bay (buy now) purchase.
Paid $35.92. Retail value $139.96.
I have the MicroXLN as my main 3m cable and I was looking to upgrade my amps front, rear and sub cable along with my XM Direct rca cables.
After many days of searching local stores and the internet, E-Bay did me well.
If you have'nt looked at Monster as your cable choice I would take a look at their stuff. The sound improvement is out of this world.
The bass is solid, the mid is crisp and the highs are pleasant.
The MicroXLN's are a level 5 of 7 in model numbers.
Just a small note. MonsterCable is my cable of choice at home and in the car.

Well, I'm glad you like the sound.
I'm not a big fan of Monster Cable sonically. In the home I prefer MIT and in the car, while Monster works competently, there are other choices... Ixos for one.
It sounds as if you learned in stores and then bought off Ebay?

A majority of the time I do research on the internet. Then I compare prices and the best man wins.
I'm here in Texas and I'm not a big fan of sale taxes. If I was back in Oregon I'm sure I would support my community. But tax = bite me!

I hate Monster cable and all (the excessive marketing bs, the price to performance, etc), but i got some MicroXLN cable just for the convenience of running 1 cable from the headunit to the trunk instead of 4 .. a bunch of other guys make this type of cable now (Stinger, Knukonceptz, Phoenix Gold, etc).

If they want us to buy the product there, they should lower the price.
Whoa! It has been almost 4 yrs since I posted this.
Like they say. "With age comes wisdom".
I have parted ways with Monster. My appreciation for the finest in sound made me realize my mistake.
Compared to the IXOS cable (RCA800). I had been missing the big picture. For one, clarity and the other depth.
It seemed that when I did some critical listening I was not really satisfied. The muffled sound always showed its ugly head when I would show my system to others and I felt that it really sounded like crap.
The IXOS cables have really improved the sound so much that it could not get any better.
When I compare my sound to my home system I am satisfied. I know people think you can't compare the two but, with IXOS you can.
My home system uses ANALYSIS PLUS COPPER OVAL interconnects with THEATER 4 speaker wire.

Best thing you can do is go to http://www.ixos.co.uk/
and select the where to buy tag.
The cost is about $130 for the rca800 @ 4M.
The cost is consistant with high end home audio cable. My ANALYSIS COPPER cost $315 @ 1M.
P>S> Their website does'nt show their car stuff. I don't know why.

Sorry... I never bought into the high end cable thing...
http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/03/a...ter-cable-and/
especially from monster who has been caught making rigged comparisons of their HDMI cables in stores http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/03/23...ys-electronic/
and whose business tactics consist of suing anyone who has "Monster" in their company name for trademark infringement. http://www.google.com/search?q=Monst...rlz=1I7DMUS_en
I buy all my cables from http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp but it is your money and you can spend it where you wish. At least if you want to spend that kind of money reward some other company with your business and not monster.
Why not buy used cable? At this site is a nice 1m interconnect from Acrolink normally $5,400 now for the low low price of $3,750. (shipping not included) http://www.usedcable.com/cgi-bin/The...ny.storefront/

Well, man from Houston.
At home I used audioquest before I went with Analysis plus and having Monster in my car I felt like. Why can't I get that same clarity in my car like I have with Analysis at home? Or something close to it?
I have a ear for good sound. While some people think that Bose is the bomb. I wound'nt be caught dead buying or recommending their stuff.
Inorder to know good sound. You must hear good sound.
So find a high end home audio dealer in Houston.
Not a box store and hear the difference.
Take your music (Real music. Not rap) like classical or jazz and demo a quality system.
