Location for Navigation Screen (Alpine TMEM006SA) ?

My local electronic store is selling Alpine Navigation System for $999CAN (less than $700US).

NVAN751AS + TMEM006SA

Since the price is really low, I¡¦m going to purchase a set for my 2001 CL-S (non-navigation)
Do you guys have any suggestion where I can locate the navigation monitor !?
I don¡¦t want the monitor standing on top of the dashboard; it looks very ugly and also may block my vision.
I am thinking to place the monitor in between the two A/C vents of the passenger side.
Is the construction easy?
If you have any suggestion, please reply and let me know
Thanks Very much, and sorry for my English-> it is my 3rd language.

make a kick ass motorized lift, and make it so the screen pops up just in front of the cup holder and then hides away at the touch of a button... that'd be sick!!

If you put it in between the 2 passenger AC vents, how are you gonna see it??

Hey ricebear.... that DOES sound like a pretty nice price for the alpine nav system. As far as the monitor goes, you would not get that many advantages locating it inbetween the passanger air vents -- you would not be able to see in when you need to ... I would really suggest the motorized route just due to its convenience because there is not that much space unless you replace the stock head unit. Hmm ....

The Alpine Navigation System that I'm getting is Factory Renewed and only comes with 3 months warranty. But still the price is very attractive to me.

Thanks for all your suggestion.

Is there any way to modify the notes-tray and make the screen (TMEN-006) pops-up from there? If not, I might going to get a motorized screen that will fits into the notes tray later (when the money is not the issue). But now I¡¦m going to put the monitor in between the A/C vents 1st. When I have the $$$, I will get a DVD/VCD player (will be installed in the glove box at the passenger side) and a motorized screen @ note-tray. By then, I will have two screens¡K J

Anyways, if you have any suggestion, please let me know!! I¡¦m not going to install the navi unit until next end of July.
