Loc
Loc
ok I am installing one subwoofer in my sisters RSX and I had to get a line out converter. How the hell does this 30 dollars thing work. On one end it has the RCA and on the other i plug in my - and +, but from where???and also has a thing for ground?? any help would help. On my TL i had the audio place do it, they put in a pac adapter and got the single off the blose sub.
I'm very confused about your question. First of all does the RSX have a factory sub? Also, was the PAC LOC on your TL used for door speakers or the sub? I hope it was not for the sub because there is a line signal going to the rear amp of our cars, which can be tapped without using a LOC for a sub replacement.
If there is no factory sub in the RSX then you will need to get some kind of signal to the amp driving the new sub. Most amps want a line level signal which would require a LOC because the BOSE setup does not have provisions for line level output. If the amp you are using requires line signal, I would guess that you will have to tap into the output wires of the HU which would go into your LOC. Then the RCA wires would go to the new amp and then speaker wires to the new sub. Don't worry about the grounds on the PAC LOC unless you get "noise" in the system or it does'nt work, in which case you would connect the ground to the frame/body of the car.
Judging from your question(and I don't mean this as a flame), you might be better off getting the sub installed for your sister by someone who has an understanding of this stuff.
Cheers,
Iggy

Not sure if all Bose head units are the same, but the CL/TL Bose units are already line level going to the factory amp. All you have to do is splice a pair of RCA's into the signal wire coming from the stock head unit. That is what was done on my CL-S. Sounds great, no noise, & alot of signal output.
