well what are the specs on the box... if the box i built specificly for the w6 then i would say that the w7 would not perform well in that enclosure... Is the box rigid enough to handle the extra pressure the w7 is going to present.... also what amp are you planning on pushing the w7 with... you will need at lease 500w...

I honestly dont know the specs, its a generic VT box. They are just built to amplify somehow, i dunno, all my friends have them so i got one and they realy do perform well. So its not to the W6 specs. its a pretty damn rigid box tho. And i have a 2 channel PPI 300A amp that pushes like 550watts bridged, pretty strong amp. help any??

I say try it... what is the worse that can happen the speaker sound like sh!t and you have to build or buy a new box... whats the harm in trying.... or you could always go to jl audio's web site and compair the dimensions of there hight output box to that of yours..

here is the website in case you are interested...

comparing the dimensions of two boxes might help you, somewhat. The problem is that most of subwoofer enclosures are built from 1/2" - 3/4" MDF. The 10w7 requires the front baffle (board the sub is attached to) to be at least 1" thick. Its actually recommended to use 1-1/4" MDF. The thinner MDF is more likely to bend, and that dramatically effects the way the w7 sounds.
