JDM TV tuners

Why are the inspire tv tuners so expensive. If they were reasonably priced it would be so easy so send in any video source into our navi screens. They want almost $500 for them, what a rip off. Every Honda product I look at has one, Legend, Inspire (all years) Odyssey ect.

I was looking at R spec's TV kits but the all connect into the TV tuners on the Honda and the one listed in the inspire parts book runs $500.

the navi conversion is really popular over there on all cars...i see kits for the lexus cars advertised in most of the imported japanese magazines. i have been trying to look for inspire stuff too.

value...if you have all the needed parts, is it a straight plug and play situation? also guaranteed to work?

It is so easy if you have the inspire tuner. Like you said plug it right in no splicing. Another good thing about the tuner it has TV ant. inputs for the inspire tv ant. which go up to the rear window. You cant even tell they are there. Looks like the defroster. SWEET.

valuetl, do you have any pictures of your car. From the sig it sounds amazing! Can I ask what the inspire sunscreen & rain visors are?

Seems there is alot more to the JDM NAVI/TV setup. The buttons on the Navi are not the same. We have (from top) menu, navi, guide,ac,cancel, zoom. The inspire has Navi, menu,tv,ac,zoomandchannelupdone. When you depress tv there is a AUX which is diplayed on the head unit as well.
