I just stumbled across a $9 mod on the elitecaraudio forum that changed my JBL BP1200.1 into a different beast.

Basically, all you do is go buy a set of good quality Y-splitters. If, like me, you only have one set of interconnects coming from the HU, you've only used the front OR rear inputs to the amp. By incorporating the Y-splitter, you'll now be using BOTH the front AND the rear inputs to the amp.

Take the RED output from your HU and plug in the Y-splitter. Now plug the two outputs from the Y-splitter into the two RED inputs of the amp. Repeat with the WHITE HU output....and get ready for a different system.

I'm not BS'ing you, it's the best $9 I have ever spent on an audio system. I had to reset the amp gains, etc.

I am no longer considering a JL 1000/1. I can't see out of my rear view mirror with the one IDMAX I have now. If you need more bass, you might want to get your hearing checked!!

This mod is DEFINITELY worthy of my mods page. I'll have to get some pics up this weekend.

If you have a JBL amp, don't waste any time! Do it!
