Just a note... for those with navi, everything functions as it does in non-navi Tsx's EXCEPT for the ability to advance tracks in a given playlist/shuffle from the steering wheel controls... in order to do that, you must use the radio tune dial.

With that said, the nice thing about the integration with the navi is that you can actually use the browse/shuffle/command buttons via touchscreen, and the song info is displayed on BOTH the nav screen AND clock lcd.

At the request of members on the "other" forum, I'm in the process of uploading a short vid on how it works in a '05 TSX nav. I'll post the link here too...

Will this work with XM still active or will I lose XM with this unit since it requires an aux input.

Every function (XM1, XM2, etc.) stays intact... you won't lose anything. You'll actually GAIN an additional aux input.

So, where does this plug into the head unit? Is there an 'empty' aux jack in the rear?

Yes, it plugs into the head unit... no need for an "empty" aux jack. You plug the original male plug that went into the HU into the PXAMG harness, and then plug the PXAMG harness into the HU.

Good to hear this worked out for you dude, I love my iSimple. Do you 05 owners get text displayed on the radio display?

^No doubt... while I miss being able to advance tracks via the steering wheel, I'll take the text display any day of the week. At least I don't have to control the iPod from the iPod itself...

Uh yeah. Way too much, I just got my TSX so I'm not too familiar with removal procedures of various things, but this was a joke to install. Though, I haven't figured out where to mount the control unit (I just kind of placed it on the side for now).

Circuit City was charging $50 to install I think, but I didn't want them scratching anything up...

is the installation for this similiar to that of the DICE or USASPEC where you just take out the storage bin and plug it in....

Yep... it's just that easy. It works on my '05, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on your '04

WAY too much man... if you lived by me, I'd come over and help you. It really is an easy install, even for someone that's not mechanically inclined. If you're still a little hesitant, I would think *at most* you'd pay ~$70-80 + the cost of the unit to have someone install it.

No... you won't lose ANY of the functionality you had before. The PXAMG unit mimicks the XM input, so it uses "the look" of the XM screens. What you see in the video is not something that's being used *in place* of XM2... it simply *looks* like XM2.

You'll still be able to keep your XM1 and XM2 function (complete w/ presets) IN ADDITION to adding the IPOD, AUX1 (for controlling the iPod via itself), and AUX2 (for adding another audio source).

Hope that helps!

BTW, if anyone needs an iPod PM me, I bought a new ipod to replace my 15gb 3rd gen (DiCE didn't support 3rd gens) and I ended up getting the iSimple instead, which DOES work with 3rd gens..

Thank you for your help. To activate you just push the XM/Aux button until you get to the screen you want?

^^ You hit the XM button, and select the "mode" (XM1, XM2, IPOD, AUX) with the tuner knob.

You're right... I forgot about that. Well, I guess you could say it mimicks the radio screen. I wouldn't think there would be any problem integrating the PXAMG w/ the '04...

Thanks for all the info. I am doing mine this weekend on a 06 TL. For those that have it already do you have controls via the steering wheel?

Ah if that's the case, this is a pretty freaking amazing unit. I'm glad I procrastinated on buying the DiCE, that seemed like a decent unit but it had its share of bugs, and it seemed like it had a higher than normal defect ratio (people having to send their units back in for swaps, having to cycle ACC mode to get the DiCE working on occasion, etc). The iSimple seems perfect so far, but I guess only time can tell.

So who is going to be the first to test this out on an '04. I really want to know if this will work on one. It seems like the best option.

Just got back from Best Buy. The unit would not work in my '08 Nav 6MT. The tech could not get the iTouch to be recognized or play music. I printed this trian of response and we tried all possible commands - nothing worked. Plus, on the iSimple box it said "Not compatible with nav radio". So, I guess I'll wait unti something comes out that will work flawlessly. BTW, the uTube vide of the 'o5 Nav unit - your nav screen looks different than mine.

It should work as long as you have an XM button.

As an FYI...for you guys without the factory bluetooth, there is a bluetooth module that is in beta testing which should use the other input on the PXAMG. At this stage it should support A2DP/AVRCP.

Let me see what I can find out about this. This was tested in a 2008 TSX with NAV which I saw first hand.

Let me see what I can find out on Monday just to be sure. My is guess the 2004 isn't on the application guide because my 2005 was the test car for the PXAMG.

The person I talked to said he does not believe the 04 has the XM feature, if not the PXAMG will not work.

Sucks. Was looking forward to getting iSimple installed; very disappointed it won't work with Navi. I have the same as you, 2008 6MT w/Nav. Let us know if you find any alternatives!

Not looking good as far as Customer Service - no phone answers and no email response. I think I'll wait until this is a proven add-on.

I just spoke to R&D and the 08 with NAV should work. It sounds like an install problem with Best Buy. They might not have power cycled the PXAMG correctly or might have had the dip switches in the wrong position.

Then I wonder why it states on the front of the box "Is not compatible with navigation radios"? I do know the tech power cycled correctly, I was in the car with him. Not sure about the DIP switch issue though.
