iPod Touch 2G install on 2001 CL non type S/ non navi.

Hi everyone, I just got my used 2001 Acura 3.2 CL not type S non navigation and this is my first post.

And the first thing I want to do is to install an iPod adapter. No I will not accept a tape deck, cuz they sound awful.

So after browsing through the forums, I've noticed theres been a number of problems with the IceLink system not being compatible because of different radios in the acuras and no pin connector being available.

Could anyone suggest a product that will for sure work with my 2001 CL? I own an iPod Touch Second Gen

I already read the DIY section, but i just want to make sure it will guaranteed work.

Oh and money IS and issue. So I'm probably not looking for anything thats like 300$.

Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of different radios or no pin connector..

As far as compatibility there's a list of Auxiliary input options in the DIY/FAQ/Info thread, you can call the manufacturers to confirm compatibility and functionality.

Note #1 - Honda/Acura Empty 14-pin connector:
In several model years of Acura and Honda vehicles, three different types of radios were used that from the front, look exactly the same. Many have the unused 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio and also have the in-dash 6-disc CD changer or the single disc CD player. Some have the 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio but it is used by the 6-disc in-dash CD changer. Still others have no 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio, because the in-dash CD changer is connected internally and the 14-pin connector was never installed. This is why we state that your vehicle MUST have an empty 14-pin connector to be compatible.

Copied from page 2 of the IceLink page.

Again, I've never heard of the issue. Doesn't mean it's untrue just uncommon.

I'm not sure what you want us to do for you it sounds like all your concerns are whether your radio has a input 14 pin connector. If you're that concerned then You need to look on the back of your radio to see if it's present.
