Ipod stereo converter options for 4th gen nano (USB power only)
Ipod stereo converter options for 4th gen nano (USB power only)
So the new ipod nano 4th gen got rid of firewire power and my USAspec car converter can't power it anymore. Does anyone know of a car converter manufacturer who can power the nano via USB rather than the non-existant firewire connection.
The converter should allow for steeringwheel controls and bonus if you can see the song title somewhere on the dash.
Thanks,
Chris

I know of 2 adapters that will convert Firewire charging to USB charging for brand new Ipods.

I haven't seen or tried either one. But the rest of the functions should remain the same. They seem to be just coming into availability.
I have an Isimple/Peripheral car system adapter that doesn't charge brand new Ipods. My impression is that the remote steering wheel controls will continue to work with either of these adapters since the dock connection is a pass-thru.
