Is the Ipod set up worth it?
Is the Ipod set up worth it?
I have been looking around the site for the different Ipod set ups for a couple days now. I am trying to decide if it is worth getting, since alot of what I have been reading has been that something isn't working right after the install. So if there is anybody out there that has their Ipod hooked up and can let me know if it is worth installing or not, that would be great. Also if you can mention what type of set up I should go for if I do the install, I noticed a couple threads that mentioned blitzsafe and others mentioning icelink. Thank you.
I put an icelink adapter in my 04 TSX about a year ago and have had no troubles with it or the car. It plugs into the back of the stereo so the stereo thinks the ipod is a cd player. I took the center console out and installed the adapter under the arm rest where it is out of sight and out of mind. The whole thing took me about three hours, and I found the directions to take the interior apart on this site.
I bought the Alpine CDE-9852 and have a 30 gig iPod. I bought a friends 10 inch kicker solo baric and box. I will replace the factory speakers next week. There are several things I like about the iPod. I will probably never listen to the radio again. I no longer have to carry around my 2 200 holder cd cases. PLUS you get to play what you want to listen to. Installing the CDE-9852 took about an hour.
