Inverter question
Any ideas on how to cut my invereter for the PS2 on/off without having to pop the trunk each time I get in/out the car? I waas thinking that I could try wiring it to the remote lead of my amp but I don't know if that will mess up the amp or not.

well the ps2 wont come on by it self every time the power is applied to it. im not sure on how to make it do that, but i dont think there is a easy way to do it with a amp remote lead. you will have to disassemble the ps2 in order to make something like that work

Put the DC/AC inverter on a power lead controlled by a relay. This is very easy to do, but post if you don't know how to wire a relay.
This will only give you the ability to turn the inverter off. You can either control the relay via a manual switch (mounted wherever you want) or use a switched accessory lead to automatically turn it on/off when the car is running/not running. So you definitely could use the remote amp lead to control the relay. Use care when using the remote lead to turn on multiple items though...you might want to add a second relay to protect your headunit whenever using the remote lead to turn on more than 2-3 items (depends on the amperage each device requires to turn on).
