To be honest, Im actually interested in seeing how this looks, and before I get bombarded with anti-rice comments please hear me out.

If you go to www.honda.co.jp and check out the new Honda Inspire (USDM Accord), you'll soon notice that it comes with the TSX interior. If you watch some of the videos they have posted on the site, you'll notice the updates they've put into the interior - one update in particular is more blue LEDS positioned underneath the dash to illuminate surrounding area. Not only does it look great, it also creates a nice blue glow to compliment the abient lighting....

Take a look, and then decide for yourself. If acuratsx03's kit is anywhere near reminiscent of the new inspire... its worth a second look.

J.

Just watched a few of the movies. Its HUD looks like a TSX on crack. What's with the `hid`, `brake` and `welcome/goodbye` stuff? lol

At any rate, the additional interior lights look cool and yet are still tasteful. I especially like the side door lights. acuratsx03: any links to what these bulbs look like? Hate to jump on the ricewagon so quick, but you know how it goes.

why cant people just enjoy a new car and be happy with it? why do people feel the need to customize it?
cant you just be happy with your 28,000 purchase and forget about trying to make it into somthing it isn't?
save your money for somthing usefull, you will still get laid in the TSX whether you have neon lights or just the blue LEDS it came with.

those lights are nice. when acuratsx03 said neon, i was thinking about bright neon tubes in the dark of the night. the lights in the inspire definatly changed my views on additional interior lighting on the TSX.

when i hear neon lights for a car i think of 2fast2furious wannabees or ricers. but after seeing the interior shots in the inspire it definitely changed my mind about neon lights. i think they'll look classy and nice as long as they're not too loud or bright.

I think it looks very nice with the interior neons.
My question is the blue light in the TSX right now an led or neon??? Also is there some code or something for the TSX blue light or is it just generic neon blue?

my neons, i expect will be just like , or very similar to the ones in that video, if not a little bit brighter. they way ill have will be that you wont know the neons are there until until theyre on. and theyre not super bright that they light up the whole car, theyre just gonna light up the lower portion of the car. im just building on the ambient light system. i still havent gotten around to the install, but when i do ill be sure to post pictures so you can decide on how good or bad they look

Interesting how quickly opinions turned around!

I've been idly considering something similar (in about the same run of thoughts that includes the trunk spikes to ward off tailgaiters and the flip-up hood laser). Neon lights are probably too much unless they're tiny. Look into LEDs or something. I have a riced-out web server with 3 blue cold cathodes inside (they're on par with neon lighting but give off less EMI), and they're pretty bright-- they'd look tacky in a car. If standard LEDs aren't enough to fill the area, look into superbrights (which I've never seen in person-- those, too, may be too much).

Edit: In the interior movie, the narrator says they're LEDs in the Inspire.

OT: When did the USDM Accord hit Japan as the Inspire? Has it been there for years, or is it new? Are they still manufactured in Ohio? It seems a little silly for a Japanese brand to be made in the US to be shipped to Japan!

I think it looks very nice with the interior neons.

The TSX's blue lights are LEDs. Have you looked up at the one mounted near the dome lights? Neon lights are usually tubes, not tiny bulbs.

Oh, id definately prefer LEDs to neons personally... However, not being knowledgeable in any manner in the field of electrical engineering, I would have no clue how to set up/power a system of LEDS.

Any advice would be appreicated in setting up a led system... getting the LEDs is easy enough (Active Surplus on Queen St. in Toronto has an abundant supply).

Hopefully someone can help out!

Edit: The previous body inspire (up until a few months ago) was more commonly known here in NAmerica as the Acura TL. Just recently, the body style changed to the NA Accord with the TSX interior.

Side Note: Interesting how the Inspire has the NA Accord body with the TSX interior, while the Euro Accord has the TSX body and the NA Accord interior....

Personally, I think the TSX got the looks in the family. (unfortunately, its not the prettiest familiy now is it?)

I don't know if this stuff is even really necessary, but you can get an LED wiring kit. I dunno if you have to use the switch or if you can wire it to go on when the other courtesy lights turn on.

Don't forget the double key-operated missle in the trunk for those slow, weaving grandma drivers. Dilbert style.
