The problem is you are putting 6.5" in 5.25" space (even though stock looks 6.5" but the stock speakers are closer to 5.25". They looks big because of the surround metal plate). You will need spacers or modify the door openings (I recommend spacers since they will give you speakers to window glass clearance).

help the rest before another mistake?

SilverKnight if you get this post, would you mind updating the A/V and Electronics Sticky for Information to include that some 6.5 wont fit so that this same mistake doesn't happen? Just want to help all those who are about to buy speakers and not get aggrevated as if stereo equipment itself is not complictating itself??? Thanks I am sure we all appreciate it!

I'm fixing a sticky with general info about putting an aftermarket sound system in our car.
Regarding the front speakers, it's kindda hard to tell the right size because of the weird stock's size. Aftermarket 5.25" is a little small, 6.5" has a little trouble with fitting. So the best bet is getting 6.5" and do some modification.

You will be absolutely blown away by the clairity in comparison to the stock bose speakers. I had to have custom panels made for mine. I am now looking into making faux burlwood outter panels with the "Q" grills. I think it would look great. What amp are you going to use on the fronts? Good choice again!

Right now I am running the new Alpine V12 Series. The MRV-F340. I have on order my Phoenix Gold Ti500.4. Might sell that if I just stick with the new alpine.

Thanks again
