hey i recently purchased a jvc head unit that says its outputs 200 watts max with 50 watts max a speaker and 19 watts rms i am looking at purchasing these pairs of inifinity speakers for all my doors but it says it can handle 60 watts rms will the speakers be under powered and not sound right?

Yea they will be underpowered, but will sound good. The problem occurs when you crank the volume and the speakers want more power but your head unit cant give it to them so distortion occurs. If you do decide to get an after market amp to get more power to them just make sure that its a regulated power supply in the amp so that you dont have to put 14.4 volts into it to get max power. Look at JL audio and you will understand better. You can run between 11.5 to 14 volts into the amp and you still get the same power out. More power can be put into speakers than what is recommended, just make sure its good clean power and not a low class amp. And I don't mean putting 1000 watts into a 200 watt rated speaker, just maybe an extra 20-30. It goes up with the size of the speaker.
