infinity kappas and mb quarts

hey all, i just got my solo-baric l7 installed in my car and it kicks pretty hard when im only pushin 450 watts into it. my next audio upgrade im planning would be some speakers. im looking for some higher end speakers so im not really interested in the alpine type s's that seem to be popular around here.

my question however is has anyone here ever tried replacing the door and rear speakers with infinity kappas or mb quarts and how do they fit? are they deep and require cutting or spacers? or will they drop right in. thanks for the info!

Limit yourself to 2.8" and you should be okay.

First off, most people have switched to Polk. Don't ask me why. I did go Alpine type S on my rear doors but went infinity (6000cs Reference) on the front, and Alpine type-Rs for the 6x9s.

I think magicman replaced his with MB Quart Reference Series RCE216 6.5" components.
Also Akay was looking into it about 9 months ago but don't remember what he ended up doing. Their are a couple of others I just can't think of their names right now.

i have mb quart pce 216s in my ront doors/dash. the door needed to be modified a bit for the magnets to fit and the stock tweeter grills had to be modified a bit to fit the one inch tweeters. everything still looks stock however and my highs and mids are clear as day.

My experience with MB Quart's says that you need a smooth amp and you definitely should use the Musicomp upgraded crossovers. You an get them as a kit in this configuration.

The coaxials are fine - don't get the seperates (IMO) and try bouncing a metal tweeter off that glass.

I have not seen any Infinity coaxials that offer the quality crossover external like the Musicomp.

Fuck i never ended up upgrading the audio system on the car. I was saving up for a few months for an engagement ring
Since Hondata got severely pushed back in going to work on the audio this fall/winter.
Im thinking of installing a mobile pc, complete with wifi, gps, dvd, ROMS!!! A wireless keyboard and touchscreen 7inch installed on the dash(unless i can find someone to do some custom work for a decent price) the install is pretty simple and you only take up a lil trunk space. Im going to look into what speakers to get to replace the stock ones but the need for sounds has gone down since i spend so much time on my cell phone while driving explaining to idiots at my job there is no such thing as an "ANY" key.
