Question Infinity Basslink

Just picked up an Infinity Basslink unit. I plan on running it line level behind the stock amp for the subwoofer.
I have a few questions:

1) Is there any existing power to the back or do i definately have to run battery leads?

2) Has anyone run both stock and afermarket subs in line together? This Infinity sub isnt going to break windows, I just want it to add a little more low end to the stock system. It is powered so running it line level is possible.

Let me know if I'm crazy or should run line level from rear door speakers.

I second that - I've been researching the basslink for a few days and can only find positive comments from users and negative comments from those that have not heard it.

I have found it on ebay for $216.

My plan was to run off the amp speaker outs, all four outputs, as the Basslink uses them to have non-fading bass.

It says in the manual I downloaded from the Infinity site that it takes a 25amp fuse. No way you are going to find that much spare power accessible from a wire in the trunk. I think it has to be a hookup from the battery.

OK, now I have to admit that I'm planning to put it in my 95 Legend Coupe. I check the TL forum sometimes, and I checked it today specifically to see if anyone was running a Basslink.

Please report back on your progress.

Do you get a tight punchy bass beat or is it boomy?

I've tried putting a Kappa perfect 12" sub in the trunk before driven by a Kenwood Excelon 350W RMS amp with extremely disappointing results...the whole thing was booming and reveberating like a gangster ride...yuck!

do you think its better to unplus the stock subs and use those wires? and where did you mount it? Like the back corner of your trunk facing up?
