Infinity BassLink

Who has one?

Do you like it?

Is it really worth it? Does the bass hit hard enough to make a significant difference?

Is it possibile to hook up 2 basslinks to a stock system? Would 2 Basslinks be better than one?

How Much did you pay for yours??

How does it effect your new car's warranty?

Thanks guys!

Do a search buddy!

From what I've read its really not worth it if you are lookin for a hard hittin sub. It's not much different than stock unless your an old fart, j/k

I beg to differ, I installed one and its perfect

It has more bass than I thought, but it won't win any competitions.

With the TL, I had the bose sub so it was nice, but my CL didn't have room for that so I needed something to provide some bass.

I ordered mine from a provider off ebay with a good rating and it was only like $180 shipped.

Very easy to install with an additional amp kit, Good Luck!

well the basslink wont give u that much more bass than the stock system honestly. for the money, you cant really get an aftermarket sub and amp for that cheap. but that would also explain why the quality of it isnt that great. that basslink and those bazooka bass tubes imo dont sound that great at all and just dont give as much bass as normal aftermarket subs would. if youre willing to spend a lil more money, you can get a lot more "boom" for your buck. and no i dont think you can hook up 2 basslinks together. if you were to spend 360 on car audio anyways i would highly recommend going with an aftermarket amp and 8 or 10 inch sub.

Mine sounds fine, Loud enough for me, It's not booming bass, matches the stock system well. Sounds better, & louder then the stock sub in the TL. Sounds nothing like a Bazooka tube, can't be compared to that. The Basslink sounds ALOT better, & is louder. You can hook up 2 without a problem, but if your going to do that might as well get a pair of 12's & and amp, or something that will hit alot harder. My main concern was weight in the trunk & trunk space. Can't go wrong with the basslink there. Here's a pic.

basslink

fuzzy, did you drill into the MDF trunk floor or mount to bolts?

I have mine installed, but I haven't decide how I ultimately want it to sit.

I used some self tapping screws that are short enough to grip the MDF, but not go through it. Has held fine on this car, & for over a year on the 02 I had.

the problem with the the stock system without basslink is that if you turn the bass up on the stock system, it easily gets distorted at higher volumes. So I let the Basslink do most of the bass-work.

It's not something you'd get if you want your neighbor to know you are coming, but as a supplement to the stock system, it's pretty decent.

I just want soemthing to boom my car a little bit. I dont want to boom my neighbors or anyone around me; just my car. I like to feel a little vibration under my ass; and deep bass. not necessarily loud. just deep and a little boom in my car. I already have 2 12's and an alpine amp that I was gonna throw on in, but I'm afraid to void my warranty. (This would be going into my 04' TSX)

i wouldn't worry about the warranty unless you are really going to be tearing into the car.

The 2 12's will be louder, & harder hitting then the basslink. If you already have it then use it. You will not void any warranty's get a shop to do it.

How did you install the Basslink? Did you use speaker level? Did you tap into the Line Level signals going to the AMP? Did you need any level converters?

Thanks!

1) i ran an 8-gauge power cable from the batter to the rear.
(probably the hardest part)

2) I then tapped into the speaker level wires.

3) Then I installed the basslink into the floor (screwed into the trunk tray, not the floor).

4) Then I found a convenient place for the ground wire. After all was done, I just plugged everything in.

I did take apart the panels to access the stock amp and started to pick the wires apart to tap into the line levels, but i then remembered someone mentioning that the quality will be better, just not significantly, so I went ahead and did speaker level.

Also, with speaker level you can have the basslink turn on automatically instead of running another wire for the remote on. I did not install the remote gain switch.

unless they can prove that my wiring caused the tranny to fail, or a window seal to leak, absolutely nothing.

unless something related happens, say a speaker blows after my installation, then they may not replace the speaker under warranty.

But that's the risk you take for doing it yourself. if a professional did it and he was reputable, he would probably be responsible for the damage.

Reason I was asking because I know of several BMW dealers that will install em' into brand new BMW's. So if its approved to go into thier cars without warranty void; I'm just wondering if Acura would do the same

how would it void any warranty...maybe if you screwed up something electrical...thats all your problem, but otherwise...i just dont understand what you mean by this

the bmw dealerships probably installs them because the age of the consumers are most likely older and they dont have the expertise to install this equipment...or they do and just dont want to screw around with a 40-50k car.

just put the subs back in, and lower the gain on the amp so it outputs minimal bass...those basslinks are weak...
