Important AVelectroni navi conversion info.

I hear that so far I am the fourth person in the group buy to incorrectly connect the handbrake wire.

"If you are not to connect the brake wire, you must connect the wire to a negative contact - NOT A POSITIVE"

I've just found out that I've blown out my box, I will verify this tonight.

Either way, I am 90% sure that I will have to send it back for repairs. I heard this runs between $75.00 to $100.00

Hopefully this post will save the rest of us from experiencing the same misfortune.

AVelectronics tech was wrong!

Well, as it turns out, the tech at AVelectronic was VERY wrong.

By connecting the parking brake wire to the positive, will do not damage the system.

I simply disconnected it from the positive and rewired it to the ground wire.

My system is up and running fine!

If the tech was totally honest, he should have recommended that I try this first. Instead of jumping to conclusions, and telling me to send it back to him for repairs.

Silvernight, I guess you can remove this thread from the sticky.

Thanks!

Being an AVelectronic dealer, I have a personal relationship with the techs over there, and they have told me differently, that by connecting that wire to +12V will short out the system. So someone, somewhere, is misleading all of us, LOL....I'll get to the bottom of it
