Icelink(esque) question
Ok - so before I found out about the whole Icelink setup, I bought a Rio Karma (cheaper and more my style anyway). So now I want to see how I can integrate it to the stock system. I bought the Proclips mount so it fits over the trim next to the radio. Now I have a few questions.
1) Is there a particular connection I need to hook up to the stock stereo? Or is this not possible and I should just use a tape adapter?
2) What would be the easiest way to hard wire a power supply? Is it possible to just but another wall plug, cut the end off and wire it to another power source in the car?
3) If not - anyone want to trade a fully loaded 20 gig Rio Karma for a 20 gig IPod? hehe

I can answer question number two: if you're asking about using a wall adapter for home use in the car, definitely not--different voltages. You can use 110v stuff using an inverter, but that's only for special circumstances where you cannot get a suitable car adapter for something that runs on 110v.
Can anybody help MrDan out on hooking up his Rio? Sounds like from another post that he has the factory cd changer.

I just did a quick search for reference : http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/ - Power inverters can be found almost anywhere.. Walmart, Best Buy, etc.. Around $40..
You would need a power inverter in order to run the power, if that's the question..
I have a power inverter in my car.. The power and ground I have tapped into my cigarette lighter / adapter inside the center console.

^^ So you're using an inverter and then a plug to get power from the cig adapter? That's the easy way I guess. I was just trying to see if it was possible to run constant power without all the wires - trying to keep everything clean

You confuse me..
There's 2 wires for the power inverter.. Power and ground..
I removed the like 8 screws to access the center console.. Tapped the wires and ran the wires under the center console.. And then hid the power inverter.. Can't get much cleaner.. Now I can plug in whatever I need.. In my case a Mp3 player and Playstation..
