Ice Link Problems

I got an IceLink for my Ipod. I followed the DIY thread to install it. I actually didn't have to take the radio/dash apart. I was able to get my fingers behind the radio to plug the harness in.

Anyway I have an Ipod Nano. My problems are....

1- I have no control other then volume from the head unit/steering wheel controls.

2- I have no control from the Ipod when plugged into the Ice link.

I have 1 flashing on the head unit. It does charge it & it does turn the Ipod off, & I do get the little warning message when it's first plugged in.

The instructions say there's a Ice Link setup menu, but I can't seem to access that.

Is the Icelink just not compatiable with a Nano?

Are these problems common?

I would assume the issue is like most common or atleast a place to start. You need to update the Nano. Most think the updates come across but that's normally just the iTunes update.. I would update the Nano first and see what happens then..

Second, I would call IceLink to see if it's a common problem and a easy fix..

You need to invoke the ICELink user interface to be able to use controls on the steering week. That UI is very slow though. I prefer the iPod UI even though you only get volume control from steering wheel.

Well I can't invoke anything. No key works on the Ipod or the radio except volume.
Dension said it might be a bad modual. They don't have any in stock. I was told to call back next week.

This is the same exact problem I am having.

It worked when I when I initially got it for a couple of months. Now this. They sent me a interface module but, it is doing the same thing. Very VERY frustrating.

I updated my Ipod.
I reset the electronics in my car...incl stereo

I am going to try resetting the Ipod.

Dension is replacing mine.

Well I got the new modual from Dension. It didn't work. At this point I'm guessing it's something in the head unit on some CL's.
With the old modual it suddenly worked out of the blue one day, then once I shut the car off it didn't work.
Guess it goes on back on Ebay where I got it.
