I want to use my 05 TSX Navi screen for DVD's and TV
Ok! I have read through many posts on using my stock navi screen for DVD and TV. Most of the posts are pretty old and I know there may be updated equipment. What is the best way to do this? Keep in mind that I have read of problems with static lines running through the screen and the touch screen no longer working, etc. Has there been a remedy for all of this? Do I still have to splice cables for audio input or has there been an audio adapter made yet?
Can someone leave a specific list of equipment needed to make this happen?
I don't need a response like....there has been many threads on this...I have read many and there isn't one simple one. Each thread has a link to like 10 different threads and it just gets confusing.
I don't need pics for this I just need a full list of equipment and where I can get it.
please help with little confusion...

You need to get a converter. There are 2 guys here that offer group buys for there unit. Dom's unit is around $150 in a group buy and vsokolov's unit is like $350. With Dom's unit, you have to cut 4 wires and vsokolov's unit is a plug n play. I got Dom's unit. A lot cheaper. You will also need a DVD player for video sources and a FM modulator or a aux adapter for sound. Thats all you really need to watch DVD on the navi screen.

When installing any video in a car, it's not uncommon to have some video "noise". that' sthe lines on the screen. THe DVD players in cars don't have the 12V input filtering thet CD players from good makers have, and as a result you often need to put a filter on them. Sometimes you need to filter the converter power as well. THis is true with aftermarket monitors, it's not peculiar to using the OEM nav monitor.
I haven't used either converter sold on this forum, so I can't comment on them from personal experience. I can tell you that most video installations require an add-on power filter somewhere.
