i need serious help....are audio shops scamming me
ok so i went to 2 different audio shops to get quotes on installing my audio stuff. i want a clean install with a warranty so this is why im going there. any anyway, i have 2 infinity 6000cs components/tweeters for the doors, infinity bass link, amp wiring kit, and a bass knob. i wanted this all installed.
this one place proceeded to ask if i have bose and i said yes. he said its going to be a problem cause with the factory amp im going to need 2 adapters. one for the front doors and 1 for the rear speakers. i was not really following along and dont know what theirs for but im guessing it has something to do with me keeping my rears stock and my doors with infinity.
so he said i will need 2 adapters, a battery kit, and some other little bullshit. installation would be around 400-450.? screw that im not paying that much for 2 components and a basslink to be installed.
but my question and/or advice here is, do i really need these adapters? cant i just change my doors and not my rears and hook them up to a seperate amp?
please help me.thank you

wait.. so you want to replace just the fronts? do you have an outboard amp for those? you will prolly need an adaptor to get signal for the fronts and then most shops like to use harnesses/adaptors for ease of install. its going to sound funky if the fronts are powered by an unbiased amplifer, and teh rears are being powered by the stock amp with the fucked up eq settings... you would be better off replacing all the speakers or none. as for the basslink... install it yourself, all you need is a drill and some connectors.

well i would like to change out the fronts and leave the rears stock. i do have an amp to power the doors, so is this guy correct about the adaptors for both the front and rear speakers?
yeah the basslink im going to install myself. how are all you basslink owners mounting them in the trunk?
thanks
