I connected my MP3 thruogh my radio disc player
I am new to the site I am an electrical engineer, retired and disabled, I found a wire coiled up in my 98 CL that had about 9 or 10 wires in it, under the compartment below the radio. I opened the cable up and found a shielded section of like 3 conductors, then about the rest single conductors of different colors.
If I select CD but do not put a disc in, the radio is I think prepared to go to the remote 6 disc changer, which it never came with one, so then the display can be selected to 1 to 6 with the radio preset buttons. The display shows 1 to 6, the second number to 99 which would be the track number.
Ignore this and take the 3 conductors in the shield and connect to a 1/8" stereo plug like goes in the MP3. Plug in the MP3 and set to work and set the volume and it plays like it was the remote disc player.
I looked through all of the diagrams and can't find one with the remote CD changer, because it should show these conductors in a cable, like a #20 or #22 guage.
Anyway I found this is a way to play the MP3 without buying a adapter transmitter to FM, which will work also.
I hope this could help someone out there.

i was just about to ask if there is something out there that can attach to behind the stereo of my 99 cl and plug in a mp3 player or ipod or something because the laser in my stock cd player crapped out and didnt want to have to find another oem stereo to install for the cd player cause the radio works fine...
