HU x-over settings

hey guys, I got the alpine 7998 and it has the X-over settings on it. The guys in the shop set it all up for me, but I think that It can be set up even better. I understand how you set the frequencies for each speakers(front, rear, sub), but what i don't understand is setting the slope. Looks like it just adds base and that's it. So to me it kind of makes the sound worse. Right now I have my sub going up to 100hz, and the front and rear speakers everything else. I think that it's not the best set up, but I don't know. Can someone advice. Thanks.

What speakers and other amps do you have in the car again? What type of music do you listen to? Great Deck by the way.... Gonna have one in a few months...
