Question How much power?

I have a 2000 3.5RL and I want to add a sub and amp to the factory setup I have a alpine class D 400 watt to power the sub. Can the cars elec. system handle that without the lights blinking on every bass note?

in short, yes

depending on the amp, a 400 wt amp will be ok for the car. My friend had 2 1200 wt amps to dual 15s the after about a month, the battery started to lower so he now has a 400 wt amp with a 12'' 1000 wt max sub

It's 400 watts rms with a 2ohm load. Does anyone think/know if this is to much bass to add to the factory stereo it's just one 12inch woofer and it's the only upgrade to the factory bose system will it over power everything else?

You will be fine. Just keep the box sealed and not ported

Thanks. I was trying to decide wich way to go ported or sealed I was leaning toward sealed for the tight bass. thanks again.
