how to match oem plastic in the dash?
I did a custom dash install, but the ABS plastic around my new stereo stuff doesn't match the black plastic from the factory. Anyone know what I could use that would be exactly the same?
I'm talking about to match all of the black plastic in the dash, the plastic that goes around the clock and the guages etc.
thanks for any advice...

send a sample to one of those paint matching places. I'm interested also, let me know what happens with this. Some peopel told me to use www.paintscratch.com
or something like that.
or something like that.
It will be tough to get it exact, but you could have an automotive paint supplier try to scan the color for a match. You might find the color that comes up is way off, though, since most scanners will have trouble with that type of finish. It doesnt appear to be "painted" from the factory, but rather a coating applied to the mold of the piece. Another option is to check out Pep Boys or Auto Zone, they sell those spray can touch ups in many colors, you may find a black mettallic thats close. The finish should be right on, I used these spray bomb touch up cans to spray my TV housing in the passsenger dash pad. I wasnt trying to match the color, but the finish is dead on.
