How many of you.........
changed your bose and was very happy with the outcome?????
I dont mean hard core systems, but just changing speakers, more powerful amp and keeping the stock bose headunit??
How is the sound???
I can get a great deal on some Alpine componet speakers and a JL Audio 300/4 and also Alpine headunit for under $1k will I be happy with it?? Can I still keep the stock headunit and it will sound the same as changing it??

Sound will be much better
i replaced everything but the stock headunit and loving it.

I replaced everything but the head unit and it sounds excellent. No... really... I put in killer speakers, good amps, an Audio Control EQQ and a basslink. It looks totally stock and sounds much better than most.
